Mission
Statement:
“To maintain and promote the
Macanese culture”
Welcome
to our Casa de Macau website. We are a non profit Macanese
Community Cultural Association with a current National
membership in Australia of 780.
On
behalf of our ‘Casa’, we hope that you will
find this site useful in terms of maintaining and promoting
the Macanese culture and history through contacts and
affiliations nationally within Australia and on a global
platform - internationally. To other users we trust that
the information contained is of benefit, fostering understanding
and acknowledgement of a culturally diverse world that
we live in.
Our
Association's main directive since inception in the early
90s in Sydney, is to maintain focus to preserve our Macanese
culture and heritage for future generations; raising awareness
and profile of our unique ethnicity.
Our
‘Casa’, is joined by sister associations throughout
the world; working in unity and solidarity; through collaboration
and partnerships with various organisations and agencies.
We are also linked to a broader network of global support
and unlimited opportunities.
The
future is filled with many of ‘life’ challenges
for our Casa and Macanese communities here in Australia
and abroad, none more so than to be always true to our
cause and ourselves.
After
many years of searching for an appropriate site, on 24th
May 2007, Casa finally acquired a modest property at Sydenham.
The premises will be used as a cultural facility and an
administrative headquarters. The house will hold our library
resources and historical archives including displays and
storage of presentations to our Casa. Our new ‘Casa’
will assist to provide support for the Macanese community.
All
members are invited to support your community for the
betterment of our culture. In particular younger members
are encouraged to be involved in the functions and conduct
of all our Association activities.
Lets
work together to continue our motto of “Keeping
the Macanese Community alive”.
